Green Field Kennels of Normandy – The Kennels and Cattery

The newly built kennels and cattery (the cattery is small, we only have three pens) are surrounded by our own farm land, our nearest neighbour is about a mile away so the dogs & cats will not disturb them or, what is more important the neighbours will not disturb the animals.
All our kennels have an inside area with bed and bedding and a outside exercise run area, which is under cover, In both areas the partition between pens is solid, this cuts down on inter-pen aggression between dogs that is found in pens partitioned by open mesh.
Our pens are made in such a way that a single pen, by the removal of the dividing partition, can be joined with the next pen, Ideal for two or more large dogs; especially for long-term boarders.

All pets when away from familiar surroundings, smells, friends and family, not necessary in that order, can be subject to stress, some more so than others. It helps, when dogs or cats are placed in potentially stressful situations, to have something that is “theirs” thatthey can relate to. So we would ask that you bring bedding that the pet will recognise (not cleaned and freshly washed) and of course any toys they may particularly like. Although helping your pets settle it may not help your pocket, for we cannot be held responsible for any destruction caused.

As well as background heating, all pens are be fitted with an overhead heating lamp. We find these an ideal way of providing your pet with a heat source that is both instantly controllable and adjustable.

We feed high quality food supplied by Royal Canin, but we can provide alternatives and we will fit into the established feeding routine of your pet, just let us know when you arrive. If your pet is on a special diet will you please supply sufficient food for the duration of his stay.

All our dogs are taken for walk twice a day. We are situated in 12 acres of farm land so lots of hedges and banks and holes for noses on a sniffing sortie.

For all requesting it, a professional toiletage service is available, the enterprise, Cani-Style, look after all our own dogs and they do a splendid job, they are very gentle and caring and we thoroughly recommend them.
All four legged residents need to be up to date with their annual vaccinations and their “Vets Health Cert” must be provided on arrival. From most countries outside of France, and from some Depts within France, a valid anti-rabies vaccination certificate, together with a current antibodies count cert. will be required.
All dogs/cats must, to comply with regulations, have an ID. Cert. Tattoo or electronic tag.
We must be told of any dog/cat undergoing or just finished medical treatment, and any known sickness, health problem or maladies, no matter how slight, must be disclosed on arrival. This also applies to females in season, and those near whelping. This will not prevent her from staying with us; it is just for her own security and welfare.
All pets staying over 1 month will be treated for fleas and tics, at the owner’s expense.
Older dogs/cats are particularly prone to suffer from stress and stress related problems so the needs and care of older dogs/cats must be discussed before entry. We pay particular attention to the needs of nervous and sensitive dogs and cats.
